FACULTY AWARDS
The
faculty members in the Department of Communication are
among the intellectual leaders of their discipline.
They hold national offices in professional organizations,
edit scholarly journals, write books and articles,
host national conferences, and lecture throughout the United
States and in other countries. In
addition to being fine scholars they are also fine educators,
as evidenced by the following selection of awards they
have won:
- University-wide AFS Teaching Award (2004)
- Donald Ecroyd Award as the Outstanding Communication
Teacher in Higher Education (2003)
- Outstanding Health Communication Scholar by NCA
and ICA (2003)
- Faculty/Staff Diversity Award (2003)
- National Communication Association Diamond Anniversary
Book Award (2002)
- College of Liberal Arts Research Award (2002)
- Texas A&M Association of Former Students
Distinguished Achievement Award in Teaching (2002,
1997, 1996, 1993, 1992)
- Distinguished Scholar Award, National Communication
Association (1999)
- Fellow of the International Communication Association
(1995)
Overall, the faculty members of the Department of
Communication have won over thirty-five awards for
their teaching, advising, and research.
