Rebecca Gill is assistant professor of communication at Texas A&M University. Her research questions the ways in which organizations are discursively constructed and how individuals negotiate and enact organizational identities and practices. Within this, Professor Gill asks questions of gender and difference, power, and resistance within and regarding organizations and organizing. Along these lines, her work has addressed social justice issues, rhetorical constructions of femininity and womanhood, community-based organizing, mediated representations of work and gender, and relationships among individuals, organizations, and society. Her work currently focuses on entrepreneur/ship and enterprise, addressing historical and contemporary, as well as local and global, shifts in entrepreneurial meaning, identity, and practice. Professor Gill’s research has been published in the Journal of Applied Communication Research, the Electronic Journal of Communication, Organization, and Management Communication Quarterly, as well as in the edited books, The Debate over Corporate Social Responsibility and Public Address and Moral Judgment: Critical Studies in Ethical Tensions.
