 DECLARING
A MINOR
All Communication majors (SCOM and TCMS) must have a minor.
Most minors are 15-18 hours and may also have additional
prerequisites. The minor is chosen to further define the
degree with respect to career goals or personal interests.
You must choose a minor prior to reaching
75 hours. You
may not choose a minor offered by the Communication Department.
Your faculty advisor is a valuable resource in choosing
a minor.
Once the minor has been determined, “declare
the minor” by e-mailing Nancy
Street, Coordinator of Undergraduate Advising (n-street@tamu.edu).
She will respond by telling you that she has entered the
minor OR that additional paperwork is needed.
