LAUREN BLAKE ’12

Lauren graduated from Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and minor in English. Since graduating, she has worked for Conoco Phillips as the Operations Excellence Communication Coordinator.
In her role, Lauren focuses on the development and execution of the team’s communication and stakeholder engagement strategy. Primary responsibilities include: Executing monthly leadership forums; Coordinating strategic improvement planning; Strategic stakeholder engagement; Knowledge Management.
During her time at A&M she was involved in student government and led a women’s Bible study. Lauren spent her summer’s serving elementary-aged kids at Pine Cove Camps in Tyler, Texas and interning for two summers at Conoco Phillips in Bartlesville, OK. Lauren moved to Houston right after graduation in 2012 and married her high-school friend turned boyfriend, Garrett. They live in the heart of the city with their 7 pound Morkie (Maltese + Yorkie) named Rigs, affectionately named after both oil rigs and Tim Riggins from Friday Night Lights.
On a typical weekend you can find the Blake family taking advantage of Houston’s culinary offerings, playing at the park by their house or watching sports on the couch. Garrett and Lauren are also active members at their local church, Sojourn Heights where they are continuing to learn what it means to live as Jesus did in the context of everyday life.
