Matthew joined Rackspace Hosting in October of 2007 after 5+ years facilitating internal operations, procurement and vendor management in the Austin area. As the SharePoint Evangelist for Rackspace, his role is two-fold: Project Managing SharePoint deployments hosted at Rackspace while helping to build the Rackspace/SharePoint brand name by working with 3rd Party vendors/consultants to offer additional SharePoint services which reside outside the scope of services for Rackspace. Outside of the office, Matthew’s time is also spent speaking at monthly technology and Microsoft conferences across the US promoting and evangelizing about Rackspace Hosting and the Microsoft products his Team supports.
Matthew’s skills sets are centric on operational efficiencies, project and process management, procurement and enterprise negotiations. His current role at Rackspace as SharePoint Evangelist dedicates him as a resource to the SharePoint Support Team in all Customer engagements to help onboard new Customer while ensuring Best Practices with Server Farm scalability; physical, virtual or Cloud based infrastructure.
Matthew graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication with a Minor in Public Relations from Texas A & M University. During Matthew’s tenure at A&M, he was a dedicated member of the Aggie Football Team (Offensive Line) under RC Slocum from ’97-’00, then spent his last two years of athletic eligibility as a member of the Texas A&M Rugby Club where he was selected as the first BIG XII Collegiate Rugby All-American.
