MELISSA HOUSER ’01
Melissa Houser is the founder of Positive Force Consulting and specializes in assisting nonprofit organizations maximize their fundraising and community outreach efforts. Through special event production, strategic communication, and implementation of effective marketing and social media strategies, Melissa helps her clients earn a bigger “bang for the buck” in the communities they serve.
Before founding Positive Force, Melissa was the Director of Development for Sheltering Arms Senior Services from 2005-2010. She was responsible for all aspects of the agency’s fundraising, including multiple special events, an annual campaign, corporate and individual philanthropy, and grant writing. During her time at Sheltering Arms, Melissa raised approximately $1.2 million dollars in total revenue for the agency.
While at Texas A&M, Melissa was involved with the 2001 Class Council, the Elephant Walk and Ring Dance Committees, and Off Campus Aggies. Melissa‘s passions include animal rescue, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and Aggie Football. She is a member of the Houston A&M Club, the Katy A&M Club, The Association of Former Students, and sits on the Board of Directors for Special Pals Shelter. She is married to Brent, ‘01, and has two boys, Ty (‘30) and Trey (‘35).
